Sulphur Springs– Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Train on Locust Street

A Sulphur Springs man died after getting hit by a train on Locust Street, Friday afternoon.
At around 5:00 p.m., Lubbock police officials were requested to assist in a collision on Locust Street. According to Judge Brad Cummings, Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace for Hopkins County, a man was riding his bike across the train tracks when he got struck by the train. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries from the force of the impact. He was rushed to Christus Mother Francis-Sulphur Springs where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was later identified as William Wileman, 51. He is a resident of Sulphur Springs.
No charges have been filed as the investigation is underway.
