Amarillo – Tristan Stewart Died in Suspected Speeding Crash on 9th Avenue

Amarillo law enforcement officials have identified the victim who died in a motorcycle collision on 9th Avenue near Bushland Avenue, Sunday.
According to initial reports, the accident took place at around 5:50 p.m. A 2005 Harley Davidson was seen traveling along the roadway when, for yet unknown reasons, it suddenly drifted onto the opposing lanes where it collided with a passing 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. The impacto f the collision killed the motorcycle rider who was identified as 34-year-old Tristan Stewart.
The driver of the Caravan, identified only as a 64-year-old male, sustained injuries that were considered non-life threatening. He was rushed to an area hospital for further care.
Local investigators were requested at the scene to determine the cause of the collision. They believed that speed may have played a role in the accident.
This incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
