Hays County- Sisters Killed in Fatal Hit-and-run Collision on Windy Hill Road

Hays County local officials have released the name of the victims who died in a tragic car accident on Windy Hill Road, last Saturday, April 27.
The fatalities were later identified as Hayden Weissman, 18, and Peyton Weissman, 16. Authorities said that the victims were sisters.
An initial investigation shows that the collision took place just after 9:00 p.m., along Interstate 35 access road near Windy Hill. A witness told police that a pickup truck, for yet unknown reasons, collided with a sedan that has five occupants in it. The impact of the collision killed two of the occupants who were identified as Haydena and Peyton Weissman. The remaining passengers were taken to a hospital where they received treatment.
The driver of the pickup truck fled on foot even before local officials arrived at the scene. He was identified as 61-year-old Macario M. Hernandez of Buda.
The crash remains under investigation.
