Austin – 23-year-old Man Died in a Car Accident on U.S. 183

A fatal vehicle collision on Research Boulevard near Ohlen Road in North Austin caused the death of a 23-year-old man, Friday night.
According to initial reports, the crash happened at the 8300 block of Research Boulevard, on the southbound service road of U.S. 183. A vehicle was traveling along the southbound lanes when it collided with a gray 2005 Honda Accord that was leaving the Park at Crestview Apartments. The vehicle then crashed into a concrete support column, leaving the driver heavily injured. He was then pronounced dead at the scene by local paramedics.
The driver of the Honda fled the scene even before authorities arrived at the scene. He will be cited for failing to stop and render aid to the victim. His identification has yet to be released by the Austin case investigation team.
