Harlingen – One injured following pedestrian accident on South Business 77

Authorities are still investigating a car accident that injured one on Business 77, Thursday.
Reports show that the wreck occurred at the 1500 block of North Business 77. At around 8:33 p.m., the Halingen Police Department arrived at the scene with one person lying on the ground. According to a preliminary investigation, a pedestrian was crossing the road when he was struck by a northbound passenger vehicle.
The force of impact injured the pedestrian who was identified only as an adult male. He was given treatment at the scene and later taken to a local hospital by the Harlingen Fire Department and Harlingen Emergency Medical Services.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigators. His identification was not released.
No charges have been filed as investigation continues.
