Orange County – Car Accident on FM 105 Kills 1

A child passed away as a result of a collision on Farm to Market 105 Road, Wednesday night.
At around 8:00 p.m., a wreck was reported at the intersection of Lakeview Cutoff near FM 105. According to initial reports, a Kia passenger vehicle was heading north on FM 105 when a southbound Chevrolet pickup truck struck it as it was attempting to make a turn towards Lakeview. A passenger in the Kia, identified only as an 11-year-old child, suffered from serious injuries sustained from the impact. He was immediately taken to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth in Beaumont where he later died.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Kia, identified as Tabitha Butler, 39, was also rushed to a hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries was not considered life-threatening. The Chevrolet driver was also taken to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability.
