Austin – Man Struck by a Car on I-35

A man was pronounced dead after getting hit by a vehicle on Interstate 35, Sunday morning.
At around 10:30 a.m., Austin-Travis County responding officers were requested at the 4500 block of I-35 North following a collision involving a pedestrian and a car. According to initial reports, a male pedestrian was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by a passing vehicle. He was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center where he later succumbed to the injuries he sustained from the force of the impact. Authorities only identified him as a man in his 40s.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. It was not determined if he was hurt by the incident.
No other injuries were reported.
An investigation is still in progress.
