El Paso – Pedestrian Accident on US 54

The El Paso Special Traffic Investigating team responded to a major collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on US 54, early Sunday morning.
Just after 3:00 a.m., local responders arrived on US 54 near Mesquite Hills after receiving a call reporting a collision. How the crash took place remains unknown at this time but it was confirmed that one person was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries. His identification was not immediately disclosed by authorities.
Emergency crews were also requested at the scene to assist in the transportation of the victim. The scene was cleared before 9:00 a.m.
Police did not release any information about the driver. The crash remains under investigation.
