Houston – Pedestrian Accident on Aldine Main Route Road Kills 1

A fatal pedestrian accident caused the death of one person on Aldine Main Route Road, Monday evening.
At around 9:45 p.m., local officers responded to a car versus pedestrian crash along Aldine Main Route. A woman was attempting to cross the road near Eastex Freeway when a passing a silver Chevrolet SUV struck her. The impact of the collision killed the female pedestrian at the scene. She was identified only as a woman in her late 20s.
Deputies said the driver of the vehicle initially stopped on the scene but eventually escaped the scene without rendering aid to the woman. The whereabouts of the hit-and-run driver have not been determined as of this writing.
An investigation is underway.
