Milam County – Nathan Ellard Killed in Head-on Collision on FM 481

The Milam County local officials released the name of the victim who died in a fatal head-on collision on Farm to Market 485 Road, Sunday morning.
The fatality was identified as Nathan Ellard, 20. He was a resident of College Station.
According to initial reports, the fatal accident took place just after 8:00 a.m. last March 31. A 2005 Mazda passenger vehicle was traveling along the westbound lanes of the highway when it crossed over the center line and collided head on with a 2018 Nissan sports utility vehicle.
Nathan Ellard, who was driving the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The Nissan driver also sustained serious injuries from the impact. She was rushed to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center where she later died. Her next of kin has yet to be notified.
Authorities are still investigating what caused Ellard to drift onto the opposing lanes.
The crash remains under investigation.
