Lubbock – Rollover Collision on Slaton Highway

Last Saturday morning, a single-vehicle accident on US Highway 84, also called Slaton Highway, resulted in injuries, according to a local news source.
Just after 11:00 a.m., Lubbock police officers responded to a rollover accident on Southeast Loop 289 near US 84. Based on a preliminary investigation, a sports utility vehicle was traveling along the eastbound lanes of the highway when, for a reason that had not been determined, it overturned and crashed into a light pole near the median. The light pole was knocked down, blocking certain parts of the highway.
Local responders said that at least two people were hurt from the impact of the collision. Their identities were not immediately released but authorities confirmed that one was seriously injured while the other sustained moderate injuries.
Investigators were requested at the scene to determine what caused the SUV to overturn in the eastbound lanes. No further details are available at this time.
