Mercedes – 28-year-old Irma Cerda Dies in a Vehicle Crash on FM 491

Last March 23, a fatal car accident on FM 491 caused the death of one person on Farm to Market 491 north of Mile 10 Road.
The fatality was identified as 28-year-old Irma Cerda. She was operating the vehicle involved the crash.
According to initial reports, a red Dodge Ram was heading north on FM 491 when a Nissan Sentra, driven by Irma Cerda, drifted onto its path, resulting in a collision. The impact of the collision killed Cerda on scene. She was pronounced dead by emergency crews who responded to the crash.
Meanwhile, the driver driver of the Dodge was rushed to McAllen Medical Center for further care. The extent of his injuries remains unknown at this time.
