2-year-old hospitalized after being hit by driver on Westheimer Rd

HOUSTON, TX – A 2-year-old boy who had apparently wandered away from home was hospitalized after he was hit by a car on Westheimer Road early this morning.

According to KHOU, the crash happened near Highway 6 in the 13800 block of Westheimer Rd at around 3:45 a.m., as the toddler was crossing the street and was then struck by a driver.

The young boy was then taken to the hospital via medical helicopter in stable condition.

The driver remained at the scene after the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
