Man fatally hit by pickup truck on Gulf Fwy in SE Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A man died early Thursday after being hit by a pickup truck while outside his car on the Gulf Freeway in Houston’s Greater Eastwood area, reports News 4 San Antonio.
The fatal incident took place off the freeway’s feeder road and Lockwood Drive at approximately 2:30 a.m.
According to Houston police, the victim had been driving while engaged in an argument with his girlfriend. At one point, the woman is believed to have grabbed the wheel and pulled it to one side, causing the car to strike a concrete wall.
Following the initial crash, the victim got out of the car while it was stopped in the freeway’s center lanes. Moments later, he was hit by another driver who continued down the freeway. The victim’s car was then struck by another driver.
Authorities said the victim died from his injuries at the scene.
No information has been released regarding whether his girlfriend, who was uninjured, will be charged for her role in the incident.
