Two escape vehicle fire on SR-249 near HCSO District 5 in Tomball

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — Two people escaped a vehicle fire Monday morning on Texas Highway 249 near the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for District 5 in Tomball, according to Captain J. Shannon.
The incident occurred on the northbound lanes approaching Westlock Drive and was first reported by HCSO shortly before 9:30 a.m.
It was unclear whether or not a collision led up to the event, but the driver and passenger were able to leave the vehicle without injuries.
Footage shared by the District 5 office shows a light-colored SUV fully engulfed in flames.
