The fatal collision happened in the 7100 block of South Gessner Road on Friday. Authorities at the scene said that a man and a child were killed in the crash, but the Harris County District Attorney’s Office later confirmed that the second victim was, in fact, a woman.
Police believe that Alessio Bevinetto, 20, was intoxicated when he drove his pickup truck into a Toyota Camry. They also say he was speeding at the time.
Bevinetto is facing two counts of failing to render aid deaths at the scene. He has not been charged with alcohol-related crimes because authorities cannot prove that he consumed the alcohol before the collision and not afterwards.
