Man dies after being hit by suspected DUI driver in SE Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A 21-year-old man was killed last Friday night when he was struck by a car in southeast Houston’s Greater Hobby Area, reports Houston Police Department.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division said the collision occurred at 10100 Telephone Road on December 17, at approximately 9:20 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows the victim was attempting to cross the moving lanes of the road when he was hit by a 21-year-old male driver in a black Chrysler 300. Investigators said the male pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk at the time.
The victim was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital – Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene and was questioned by officers. He was later determined to have been impaired and is now facing DWI charges.
