Three hospitalized after van collides with METRO bus in NW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — Three people were injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident involving a METRO bus in northwest Houston’s Shady Acres area, reports FOX 26 Houston.

Authorities said the collision occurred at the corner of West 20th Street and North Durham Drive at about 3:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a van ran a red light at the intersection shortly before making contact with the bus, pushing it onto the sidewalk and into a vending machine next to a building.

Three victims on board the bus, including its driver, were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No further details have been disclosed at this time, but an investigation remains ongoing.
