Driver killed in two-vehicle crash on S Loop E Fwy near south Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A 68-year-old man died Friday night after his vehicle rear-ended a car during a medical episode on South Loop East Freeway in south Houston, reports Houston Police Department.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the collision occurred in the 4400 block of the freeway at about 5:25 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows the man was behind the wheel of a gold Chevrolet Trailblazer heading westbound when he failed to maintain his lane and rear-ended a white Honda Pilot.
The driver of the Honda said she exited her car after the crash and found the victim unconscious in his driver’s seat.
Medics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
An investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
