Pedestrian killed by driver on Sam Houston Twy in Houston’s Westwood

HOUSTON, TX — A person died Saturday night after a pedestrian accident on the Sam Houston Tollway near west Houston’s Westwood area, reports Houston Chronicle.

Authorities said the crash happened on the southbound freeway near Beechnut Street at approximately 11:10 p.m.

No details have been released on the circumstances behind the event, but the victim died from their injuries at the scene.

The driver stopped and stayed after the crash for questioning as all southbound traffic was diverted from the area.

An investigation into the fatal incident was underway.

As of this writing, authorities have not disclosed any information on any citations, pending charges, or arrests.
