Man dies after single-vehicle collision in Houston’s Westside

HOUSTON, TX — A 29-year-old man was fatally injured Saturday night after losing control of his vehicle in Houston’s Westside area, according to Houston Police Department.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the accident occurred at 7800 Richmond Avenue at approximately 6:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the victim was behind the wheel of a blue BMW X3 SUV when he lost control of the vehicle. Authorities said the roadway was wet at the time, and the SUV slid and collided with a tree in the median.
The victim suffered critical injuries and was transported to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
An investigation into the fatal incident remains in progress.
