Man dies after being hit by driver on FM 1960 near Cypress Station

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A 51-year-old man was killed early Wednesday when he was hit by a car on Farm to Market Road 1960 West near Cypress Station, reports Spring Happenings.

The fatal incident occurred in the 14000 block of the road near the Northwest Freeway shortly before 1:20 a.m.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was standing or walking on the road, away from a crosswalk, when he was struck by a 28-year-old male driver.

It was unclear whether the victim died at the scene or after being transported to a hospital.

The driver admitted to authorities he had had a drink some time before the crash, but officers determined he showed minimal signs of intoxication.

As of this writing, no charges have been reported.
