Arlington- DUI crash on Interstate 20

Authorities are investigating a fatal accident involving a DUI driver on Interstate Highway 20, January 1.
At around 6:40 a.m., police received a call reporting a car accident at the 4800 block of Highway 287 exit ramp near Interstate Highway 20. According to reports, a vehicle was traveling along the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 287 when it suddenly veered towards the direction of another vehicle and struck it. The suspect vehicle then pushed the vehicle into a concrete pillar.
The occupant of the vehicle was declared died at the scene. He was later identified as 46-year-old Timothy Shorter from Arlington. The suspect sustained minor injuries and was then transferred to a hospital where she received treatment. Authorities identified her as 35-year-old Elizabeth Stratton.
Stratton was later arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
