One killed in crash involving suspected DUI driver near north Houston

HOUSTON, TX — One person died later Saturday night after a two-vehicle wreck that injured two others near Stuebner Center in north Houston, reports Houston Chronicle.

Houston police said the accident took place in the 10400 block of Veterans Memorial Drive at approximately 10:45 p.m.

According to authorities, a man was behind the wheel of a pickup truck heading northbound on the road when crashed into another pickup turning from Moorebrook Drive.

The driver of the second truck died from their injuries at the scene. Their passenger was taken to a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

Houston police said the first driver was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

No further updates have been released, but authorities said they believe the causing driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
