HOUSTON, TX — A man died Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle while selling flowers on a roadway median in Houston’s Meadowviewland area, reports FOX San Antonio.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened near the intersection of Airline Drive and West Gulf Bank Road at about 6:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows one vehicle crashed into another car and was sent over the middle median where the man was standing. The impact of the crash caused him to be thrown onto the hood of another nearby car.
Authorities said the victim was rushed to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The suspect driver, who had attempted to flee the scene and was detained and arrested by an off-duty officer, will be charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
