Mission—Mission Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on FM 2221

The victim who died in a pedestrian collision on Farm to Market Road 2221 has been named, according to Texas Department of Public Safety news release.
The pedestrian was identified as Jacobo Camacho, 23. He is a Mission resident.
According to initial reports, the fatal accident occurred early Wednesday morning at exactly 3:03 a.m. Jacobo Camacho was along FM 2221 near Brushline Road when he was struck by a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 that was heading east. In the report released by DPS, Camacho field to give way to the vehicle, prompting the collision.
Camacho was immediately transported to Mission Regional Hospital. However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The driver of the Dodge Ram did not sustain injuries from the collision. His identification was not publicly released.
Local investigators continue to gather further details surrounding the incident.
