HOUSTON, TX — A woman died early Tuesday morning after a multi-vehicle accident near Bear Creek Pioneers Park in northwest Houston, reports Houston Police Department.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the collision occurred on the 5100 block of North Eldridge Parkway at around 5:50 a.m.
The victim was behind the wheel of a gray Toyota Corolla with no headlights on as she drove south on the parkway. At one point, the vehicle veered across the center line and into the oncoming lane, where it collided with a northbound Nissan Frontier. The impact of the crash caused the Corolla to spin around. Moments later, it was struck by a northbound Toyota Tacoma, sending the Corolla into a ditch on the east side of the road.
After the victim and another occupant in the Corolla were extricated from the wreck, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The condition of the victim’s passenger was not immediately clear.
The driver and a passenger in the Tacoma suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals.
Authorities have not released further information, but an investigation is ongoing.
