Pedestrian dies weeks after being hit by box truck on I-45

HOUSTON, TX – A man who was struck by a box truck while walking on I-45 earlier this month has died, HPD reports.
The incident occurred at about 7:15 on October 6th as the victim was walking in the middle of the freeway, near Cavalcade Street.
Police say the driver of the white box truck attempted to veer out of the way. However, the man then moved into the path of the truck a second time and was hit.
The unidentified 60-year-old man was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries on October 17th.
No charges have been filed against the driver of the truck.
