Oak Cliff – Boy Hit by Vehicle in Dallas Neighborhood

A Sunday crash caused the death of a six-year-old boy on Sunnyvale Street in Dallas, according to initial reports.
Local police officers responded to a tragic car accident in the 4300 block of Sunnyvale Street at around 2:20 p.m. In their initial investigation, the victim was attempting to cross the street when he was hit by a passing silver 2015 Kia Soul. The force of impact left the child in a life-threatening condition. Emergency crews transported him to Children’s Hospital Dallas where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police identified the victim as Ja’Quan Smith. Little Smith was in front of a house when the accident happened.
The driver of the hitting vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperating with police officials. She was only identified as a 52-year-old woman.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still underway.
