Newton County – Jessie Prince Killed Following a Car Accident on SH 87

The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the name of the person who died in a vehicle collision on State Highway 87, last Friday evening.
The victim was identified as 47-year-old Jessie James Prince Jr. of Newton. He was one of the drivers involved in the accident.
According to a local news source, the wreck took place on State Highway 87 in Newton County, about six miles south of Newton at approximately 7:00 p.m. A 2016 Ford passenger vehicle was heading south on the highway when, for yet unknown reasons, it veered onto the center divider and onto opposing lanes where it collided with a 2006 GMC pickup truck.
The driver of the Ford, Jessie James Prince Jr., died from the impact of the crash. Meanwhile, the driver of the GMC, including his passenger, did not sustain injuries.
No charges have been made as of this writing.
