Rear-end collision kills 1, injures another in NW Houston

HOUSTON, TX – One woman was killed and another was injured following a rear-end collision on Hempstead Road early Sunday morning.
According to local news reports, a Chrysler sedan rear-ended a red Ford pickup truck that was disabled in the roadway near W. 43rd Street at about 2:20 a.m.
The truck driver claimed there was a male driver and two female passengers in the Chrysler, and all were alive before he left to get help. Soon after the initial crash, a maroon Dodge pickup rear-ended the Chrysler.
After the second collision, first responders found one female passenger, Shannon Deville, dead in the backseat of the Chrysler. Her passenger, April Ward, was hospitalized with unknown injuries. The male driver left the Chrysler before it was rear-ended by the maroon Dodge.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
