Woman fatally hit by car in crash on FM 1774 in Pinehurst

PINEHURST, TX – A female pedestrian was fatally hit by a driver on FM 1774 Road in Pinehurst early this morning, according to information from the Montgomery County Police Reporter.

The crash happened near the intersection of FM 149 Road and FM 1774 Rd just after 2 a.m., as a 34-year-old woman was allegedly walking near the southbound lane of the road. She stepped away from the curb and was then hit by the driver of a Honda Accord headed southbound.

The victim, who was thrown over the vehicle during the crash, was found lying dead in the roadway. She was not immediately identified.

The driver is not suspected of having been intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
