Lubbock- Car accident on Interstate 27

A rear-end collision is reported on Interstate 27 access road near 23rd street.

Authorities were requested at the scene following a call at approximately 7 a.m., Tuesday. According to the report, the crash took place when an SUV rear-ended the semi-truck on I-27 between 22nd Street and 23rd Street. What caused the collision is yet to be confirmed by officials.
The force of impact injured the driver of the SUV and his two passengers. Both passengers suffered from injuries and were later taken to a hospital through an ambulance. The male driver later to succumbed to his injuries at the hospital
Police have yet to identify the victims. The investigation is still progress.
