El Paso— Alberto Escoto ID’d Victim of Montana Avenue Fatal Collision

The El Paso Police is still locating the hit-and-run drivers who struck and killed 72-year-old Alberto Escoto on Montona Avenue last February 9.
Based on a preliminary investigation, a pedestrian was crossing the street at the 9300 block of Montana Avenue when he was struck by a Hyundai Sonata driven by Leticia Garcia, 41. The victim was then struck by numerous vehicle including the Chevrolet Impala driven by Julio Chavira, 56. According to authorities, only Garcia and Chavira stopped and stayed at the scene.
The pedestrian, identified as Alberto Escoto, was pronounced dead by emergency crews who responded at the scene.
Local investigators are still in the process of identifying the suspects and locating their vehicles. Anyone with information on the other drivers and vehicles is encouraged to get in touch with the police.
