Motorcyclist dies after being hit by drunk driver in hit-and-run on US 290

HOUSTON, TX – KHOU 11 reports that a motorcyclist died this morning after being hit by a drunk driver in a hit-and-run on US 290.

A motorcyclist was hit by the driver of the truck near Gessner Road early this morning. Instead of stopping to render aid, the driver of the truck fled the scene. A witness followed the truck driver and called the police.

Another witness attempted to provide first aid to the victim, but unfortunately, he later died at the scene.

The suspect, who has not been identified, was arrested by authorities and charged with failure to stop and render aid and intoxication manslaughter.
