Salado–Fatality, Injury Reported in Wrong-way Collision on Interstate 35

At least one person was injured while another died in a fatal car accident on Interstate 35, Monday night.
According to initial reports, the collision took place at around 9:00 p.m. A vehicle that was heading on the wrong direction along the southbound lanes of I-35 crashed into a passing vehicle near exit 286. The impact of the collision seriously injured the driver of one of the vehicles. He was taken to Baylor Scott & White for treatment. However, his condition remains unknown at this time.
Authorities said that one person also died from the impact. His identification has not been released pending notification of the victim’s family.
All southbound lanes were temporarily shut down for clearing. Further details are yet to be released by the Belton Police Department as the crash is still under investigation.
