Four children hurt in alleged DUI crash on I-45 on Tiki Island

TIKI ISLAND, TX – Four children were hurt in a crash involving an alleged drunk driver on Tiki Island last night, according to KTRK.

The crash happened on northbound I-45 as an alleged drunk driver went off the side of a curved road. The vehicle, which contained a total of two adults and eight children, then crashed into a field.

Four children were taken to the hospital for treatment. One of those victims suffered a broken leg in the crash.

Authorities have stated that none of the eight children were restrained in seatbelts or car seats.

The driver is facing a charge of intoxication assault and will be booked into the Galveston County Jail. His bond has been set at $50,000.
