Update: Man fatally hit by car while checking flat tire on South Loop

HOUSTON, TX – A man checking a flat tire was fatally struck by a vehicle on the South Loop late last night, according to KHOU.

This is an update to a previous news story.

The crash happened near the exit for Stella Link at about 10:30 p.m., when a man exited his vehicle in one of the main lanes to check a flat tire. He was then struck by a passing vehicle.

The victim, who has not yet been publicly identified, was later pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and is not expected of having been under the influence.
