1 dead, 3 injured after driver runs red light, rear-ends SUV on Southwest Fwy

HOUSTON, TX – One person is dead after they allegedly ran a red light, then crashed into an SUV on the Southwest Freeway early this morning, according to KTRK.
The collision occurred on the Southwest Fwy and Bissonnett Street at about 3 a.m., after a driver reportedly ran a red light at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then crashed into the back of an SUV, then collided with a concrete pillar.
The speeding driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Their passenger was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The two occupants of the SUV were also brought to the hospital for treatment.
