Two police officers hospitalized after multi-vehicle wreck on the Gulf Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – Two police officers were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle wreck on the Gulf Freeway late Sunday night, KHOU 11 reports.

Two Houston Police Officers were blocking lanes on the freeway near Park Place Boulevard due to a minor crash that had occurred previously. Another vehicle then crashed into the police cruiser, sending the car into traffic. The police vehicle was then hit by another car. The incident was reported around 12 a.m.

Initial reports indicated that one officer was unconscious and became trapped in their vehicle.

Both officers were taken to the hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
