UPDATE: HPD issues press release on fatal big rig wreck on the Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has issued a press release regarding the fatal big rig wreck that took place on the Katy Freeway on Monday morning.
The victim, an unidentified man, was driving an 18-wheeler with dry cement and took an exit ramp to the Southwest Freeway. For unknown reasons, the victim failed to maintain a single lane and crashed into a nearby concrete barrier.
The impact of the crash caused the tractor and trailer to overturn, causing the tractor to burst into flames. The victim was declared dead at the scene.
