UPDATE: Suspect arrested following fatal Richmond Avenue accident

HOUSTON, TX – A suspect was arrested following the fatal Richmond Avenue accident that took place on the morning of Monday, March 15, according to the Houston Police Department.
Authorities say 30-year-old Joe Nathan Richardson was driving a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck when he ran a red light at Richmond Avenue’s intersection with the West Sam Houston Parkway. He then hit a gray Toyota 4-runner which then crashed into a nearby light pole.
Both Richardson and the driver of the Toyota, an unidentified 28-year-old man, were transported to a nearby hospital after the incident. Richardson suffered minor injuries while the driver of the Toyota was declared deceased by hospital staff.
Richardson was intoxicated at the time of the crash and has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter. He was also charged with felon in possession of a weapon.
