Woman killed, 2 injured in high-speed rear-end crash on Beltway 8

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed, and two other people were hurt in a rear-end crash on Beltway 8 this morning, according to KTRK and KHOU.
The accident happened in southwest Houston on the Beltway 8 (Sam Houston Tollway), near Hillcroft Avenue and the Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road, at about 10 a.m.
The driver of a black Jeep Patriot struck the rear of a Dodge Ram pickup at a high rate of speed.
The Jeep overturned multiple times, leading to the driver being ejected from the vehicle.
The as-yet-unidentified victim died at the scene.
A passenger in the Jeep was cut from the wreckage by emergency crews, and was then taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening wounds.
The other driver sustained minor wounds in the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
