One dead, one injured in hit-and-run collision on Gulf Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed, and another person was taken to the hospital in an accident on the Gulf Freeway involving two people who fled the scene early this morning, according to KHOU.
The crash occurred on the Gulf Freeway, near I-610, just after midnight, when the driver of a Nissan Sentra collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe that was reportedly driving slowly in the exit lane.
A female passenger in the Sentra was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The two occupants of the Tahoe fled the scene on foot before officials arrived. Authorities are searching for them as they continue to investigate the collision.
