HPD officer and alleged drunk driver hurt in crash in southeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A Houston Police officer and a suspected drunk driver were injured after the driver allegedly ran a stop sign in southeast Houston late last night.
According to ABC 13 Houston, the crash happened on Fuqua, near Palmhill, at about 11 p.m., when a driver described as “very intoxicated” rolled through a stop sign. The driver then collided with a Houston Police officer.
The officer sustained minor injuries as a result.
The allegedly drunk driver was taken to the hospital with undisclosed wounds. The driver will be facing DWI charges in connection with the crash.
The identities of the officer and driver were not immediately released.
