UPDATE: Man dies after being thrown from car during rollover wreck along the Southwest Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A man died after being thrown from his car during a rollover wreck along the Southwest Freeway on the evening of Friday, February 26, the Houston Police Department reports.
Witnesses report that a 37-year-old man was operating a maroon GMC Jimmy at a high rate of speed near 9100 Southwest Freeway when he suddenly hit a curb, driving along a retaining wall. The car began to flip over, and the victim was thrown from his vehicle.
The man, who has not been identified, was declared dead at the scene. An investigation into the incident remains underway.
