HOUSTON, TX – A woman died after being hit by a driver running a red light on Monday night, ABC 13 reports.
Authorities say 28-year-old Lohortenes Sanders left an apartment complex after getting into a fight with another individual. While driving, Sanders hit a parked vehicle near West Gulf Bank Road. The suspect fled the scene of the initial crash, running a red light and hitting the victim at the road’s intersection with Antoine. The accident was reported around 8:30 p.m.
52-year-old Tammy King Young was thrown from her car after the second collision. She was then run over by her own car and declared dead at the scene. Sanders has since been charged with criminally negligent homicide and the charges may escalate if tests find that she was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
