Pedestrian dies in crash on Woodforest Boulevard

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian died in a crash on Woodforest Boulevard on the evening of Saturday, January 2, according to a press release from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, Angel Canales, was walking in a moving lane of traffic near 15200 Woodforest Boulevard when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by Juan Balderas. Canales reportedly failed to yield the right of way and was not using a crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Canales was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Balderas was determined not to be intoxicated.
