El Paso– Police Officers Struck by Vehicle on US 70

A vehicle crash on U.S. 70 near Las Cruces sent two police officers to a hospital last Saturday.
New Mexico State Police say that two of its police officers were investigating a crash on US 70 northeast of the city when a passing vehicle struck them including a police vehicle nearby. The two officers sustained non-life threatening injuries from the impact. Their identification has not been disclosed.
No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the hitting vehicle was identified as 70-year-old Susan Ware. She was a resident from Cloudcroft.
Police cited Ware for reckless driving.
New Mexico State Police diverted the traffic onto Bataan Memorial West at Brahman as they clear the scene.
The investigation is still underway.
