HOUSTON, TX – A man has been identified as the driver and is facing charges in connection with a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday that killed a bicyclist.
According to a press release published by the City of Houston, the suspected driver is 34-year-old Joshua Ced Jones, who is accused of striking a 55-year-old bicyclist with his green Honda Civic, then fleeing the scene.
Witnesses attempted to render aid to the victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, but despite their attempts at resuscitation, he died at the scene.
Multiple witnesses saw the Civic with damage believed to be consistent with a bicycle accident, and then followed Jones to the 5700 block of Sunbeam Street.
Police officers later took Jones into custody without a struggle.
Jones has been charged with failure to stop and render aid.
